  • From the Airport (YVR) -- to downtown Vancouver and the St. Clair Hostel
On Public Transit system
1. International flight travelers:
    After clearing Canada Customs and Immigration -- go through the big glass doors, and follow the signs for public transportation CANADA LINE. Pay your fare and get a transfer ticket.
Board the Skytrain at the platform sign CANADA LINE TO WATERFRONT.
Arrive at destination stop CITY CENTER STATION. Get off Skytrain and exit onto Georgia St.
Walk east (to the right as you come up escalator) one block to Seymour St.
Turn left and go one block to Dunsmuir St., turn right (east) walk one block to Richards St., turn left (north). The St Clair Hostel is only a few paces down Richards St., under the clock with the picture of a ship.
Your trip will take approximately 25 minutes on Skytrain and another 5 minutes walk to the St Clair Hotel.

2. for Domestic flight arrivals:
Exit the building following the signs for public transportation CANADA LINE. Pay your fare and get a transfer ticket.

Taxi-cabs are available at the airport exits. Cab fares are easily $40 - $50 (or more) from the YVR airport to St Clair Hotel. Your trip will take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending upon time of day and traffic conditions.
  • If you will arrive by other BC Transit
Typically, the easiest routes to downtown Vancouver locations, like the St. Clair Hotel - Hostel, are the Skytrain service or any of the Downtown destined buses.
For bus routes that service the downtown areas, ask the driver for a Stop close to Richards and Dunsmuir streets.
    The Skytrain Stations "Stadium, Granville, Burrard, Waterfront, and the Seabus terminal" are all within five short city blocks of the hostel (yes, we certainly have a central location).
However, of these, the Granville Station is closest to the St Clair ... just over 1 block away.
Get off the Skytrain car at Granville Station, take the Dunsmuir Street exit, walk east up Dunsmuir St. (about 1-1/2 short blocks) to Richards St., turn left onto Richards St., just a few paces, look for the clock with a ship image.

  • From the CN - Amtrak railway or Greyhound station
Exit the station, look for the Skytrain on your left, up the stairs, buy ticket from machine kiosk.
Take the Skytrain going west toward downtown (Waterfront), get off the Skytrain car at Granville Station, use the Dunsmuir Street exit, walk east up Dunsmuir St. (about 1-1/2 short blocks) to Richards St., turn left onto Richards St., just a few paces, look for the clock with a ship image.
Travel time: around 10 minutes
