From
the YVR Airport to Downtown Vancouver
and the St Clair Hotel...
Taking the SkyTrain:
- After clearing Canada Customs and Immigration, go
through
the big glass
doors and follow the signs for public transportation marked CANADA LINE. Pay
your fare and get a transfer ticket.
- Board the SkyTrain at the platform sign CANADA LINE TO
WATERFRONT.
- Arrive at destination stop CITY
CENTRE STATION. Get off the SkyTrain and
exit onto Georgia St.
- Walk east (to the right as you come up the escalator)
one
block to Seymour
St.
- Turn left and go one block to Dunsmuir St., turn right
(east) and walk one
block to Richards St., turn left (north). The St Clair Hotel is only a
few paces down Richards St., under the clock with the picture of a ship.
- Your trip will take approximately 25 minutes on the
SkyTrain and another 5
minutes' walk to the St Clair Hotel.
Taking a Taxi:
Taxi-cabs are available at the airport exits. Cab fares are $40 - $50
(or more) from the YVR Airport to the St Clair
Hotel. Your trip will
take
approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the time of day and
traffic conditions.
Other BC Transit routes:
Typically, the easiest routes to Downtown Vancouver locations, like the
St Clair Hotel - Hostel, are the SkyTrain service or any of the
downtown-destined buses. For bus routes that service the downtown
areas, ask the driver for a stop close to Richards and Dunsmuir streets.
The SkyTrain stations Stadium, Granville, Burrard, Waterfront, and the SeaBus
terminal are all within five short city blocks of the hostel
(yes, we certainly have a central location).
From the Pacific Central Station
(the Amtrak and Greyhound station)
Exit the station, look for the SkyTrain on your left, head up the
stairs and buy a ticket from the machine kiosk. Take the SkyTrain going
west toward downtown (Waterfront) and get off at
Granville Station. Use the Dunsmuir Street exit, walk east up Dunsmuir
St. (about 1-1/2 short blocks) to Richards St., turn left onto Richards
St., just a few paces, and look for the clock with a ship image.
Travel time: around 10 minutes
